Who will look after my child whilst at Little Tinkers?
We have a lovely small team at Little Tinkers, who comprise of people with a formal childcare background as well as those who already know your child through working at the school as midday and/or teaching assistants. All staff have been DBS-checked, safeguarding trained, and hold a full and current paediatric first aid certificate (new staff are asked to achieve this within the first 3 months of being with us). Rebecca is the setting manager and heads up the breakfast sessions. Matt is the deputy manager and runs the afternoon sessions.
How do I register?
Registration is handled by our online system (easiest to use on a computer rather than tablet or device).
How do I book?
You are in charge of your own bookings through our online system, and can attend regularly or on an adhoc basis. The system locks in your bookings seven days prior to the session itself, but before that point you can add or remove any particular sessions, and will only be charged for what you need. It is at the point of booking that you will be required to specify whether you require a shorter or longer session, and will be billed accordingly. Sessions are released in advance, usually for the full academic year.
How do I pay?
Your accounts are updated online on a real-time basis dependent on which sessions you've booked, so you always know exactly where you're up to. Payment for your child's sessions are due in advance. We're happy to be led by yourselves as to whether that means weekly, monthly, or termly in advance. There are several routes of payment (all detailed fully within the system): credit/debit card / instalments / tax-free childcare / childcare vouchers / combinations of these options. As soon as we see a payment has been made, we'll reconcile it onto your account accordingly.
Where do I drop-off and/or collect my child?
All drop-offs and collections are completed at the school's main reception. There is a dedicated Little Tinkers doorbell to the left of the main doors. Staff will sign your child in and out.
My child attends an on-site club after school. Can you collect them?
Yes. Simply let us know via the system which club your child attends and when they finish and we'll ensure we bring them back to Little Tinkers afterwards. You simply book the session on the system with the appropriate home time you require (5:30pm or 6pm)
My child goes straight from Little Tinkers onto another club. Can they eat with you and/or get changed beforehand?
Yes. If you provide a packed tea and we will ensure it's appropriately refrigerated throughout the day, and give it to your child at around 5pm (we do however ask that the food you provide does not contain any nuts due to serious allergies suffered by other attendees at the setting). Likewise, any changes of clothes should be sent along with your child in the morning. Please remind us at morning drop-off of your child's specific requirements and timings for their onward session.

We know that sometimes the journey back from work won't go according to plan. Either give us a call or drop us a text on 07808 653926 as soon as you can to let us know, so that we can manage your child's expectations, and in turn ensure that we have the correct number of staff in place to cover your child's extended stay.
I need to add a session for my child within the lock-in period
At Little Tinkers we'll always aim to be as flexible as possible, and where spaces allow we'll add the session onto your account. Just give us a call on the mobile - 07808 653926.
My child doesn't need a session I've previously booked for them
If you're outside of the seven day lock-in, simply log into the online system and amend the booking accordingly. Removal of the session at this stage will mean you're not charged. If you're within the seven day lock-in, please give us a call or drop us a text (07808 653926) and we'll make a note on the system. You will still be charged for the session.
